Progressive web technology for a progressive engineering firm
What We Did
How We Built It
Southeastern Consulting Engineers is a professional firm with a reputation for technical precision, and their website wasn’t keeping pace with that standard. The previous site was slow and the team had no practical path to update project pages, add new staff profiles, or edit service descriptions without developer involvement. For a firm that regularly completes projects and brings on new engineers, a site that requires a developer call for every content update creates a gap between the firm’s current state and what’s shown online. That gap adds up over time, especially for an engineering firm where the project portfolio is a primary selling tool. The site needed to be fast, current, and manageable without outside technical support.
We built the site on GatsbyJS with Sanity.io as the CMS. GatsbyJS generates static HTML and CSS, which makes the site fast and removes the server-side dependencies that create maintenance overhead. Sanity provides a clean content management interface the Southeastern team can use without any technical training. Adding project pages, updating staff profiles, and editing service descriptions are all things they handle themselves through the Sanity studio. The combination gives the firm a fast, well-presented site they control entirely.
Southeastern Consulting Engineers now manages all site content without outside technical help. New projects get added when they’re complete, staff pages stay current as the team changes, and service descriptions reflect what the firm is actually offering right now. The site loads fast and performs well in search results. The Southeastern team runs the editorial side of their web presence the same way they run their projects: on their own timeline, at their own standard. That was what the project set out to deliver.
