Union County's economic development group moves to WordPress

Challenge

DevelopUnion.com is the website for Union County’s economic development group, and it had fallen behind both visually and functionally. The county needed a platform their team could operate independently for routine content updates without calling a developer. News, project pages, and development announcements change regularly, and a site that requires outside technical support to stay current becomes a burden rather than an asset. Chain Reaction Studios brought us in to handle the development side of a full rebuild alongside their design work. The previous site structure didn’t give the county’s team the flexibility to maintain it themselves, which was the core problem the project needed to solve.

Solution

We built the site on WordPress with a custom design aligned to DevelopUnion’s brand and integrated Elementor as the page builder for layout management. The combination gives both the county’s team and the Chain Reaction Studios staff the ability to handle content updates and layout changes without developer involvement. The WordPress foundation handles publishing, news, and project page management in a structure built to scale with the county’s ongoing needs. Everything from the information architecture to the editing interface was designed with independent maintenance in mind. The final build gives DevelopUnion a site they control entirely.

Results

DevelopUnion’s team now publishes news, updates economic development pages, and manages site content without any outside technical help. The site reflects the county’s brand and communicates their economic story clearly. Chain Reaction Studios can also make layout and design changes through Elementor without needing a developer on every project. The editorial independence built into the platform was the goal from the start, and the county has been running the site independently since launch. Content stays current because updating it no longer requires a ticket and a wait.
