Marketing website for an agro-tourism destination in Mooresville, NC

Challenge

Carrigan Farms is a year-round destination that operates across four seasons with different activities available at different times. Keeping visitors informed about what’s on and when requires frequent content updates, something the old site wasn’t built to support. The business runs strawberry picking and swimming in warm months and shifts to pumpkins and apple harvest in fall. Each transition brings new schedules, new event details, and photos that should reflect what’s actually happening on the property. Calling a developer every time the calendar changed wasn’t a viable long-term workflow. The site also had to hold up under the traffic load that comes with a destination drawing tens of thousands of visitors each year.

Solution

We built the site on WordPress with a custom TailwindCSS theme designed specifically around the Carrigan Farms brand and the seasonal content structure the business requires. The admin experience is straightforward enough that staff can update event schedules, post announcements, and swap photos without any technical training. The theme is built around the actual content the site needs to communicate: what’s happening, when it’s happening, and how to get there. Performance and reliability were built in from the start to handle the traffic spikes that come with popular weekend events. All content management lives in one place and requires no developer involvement for routine updates.

Results

Carrigan Farms staff run the site entirely on their own. Event schedules go up when they’re set, photos get swapped as the seasons change, and the calendar stays accurate without outside help. The site has handled peak-season traffic without issue since launch. Visitors get accurate information when they search for events, which cuts down on the volume of calls and messages the farm receives for questions the site now answers directly. The editorial independence the project delivered was one of the primary goals, and it has been working since day one.
