Laravel Development for Manufacturing in Charlotte, NC

The Problem

Your ERP runs the business. Everything around it runs on spreadsheets.

Enterprise ERP systems are built to handle financials, inventory, and production data. They are not built to give your customers real-time order visibility, let your vendors self-manage purchase orders, or put a quality control checklist on the production floor. Those gaps get filled by spreadsheets, email threads, and customer service calls that should not need to happen.

Off-the-shelf add-ons rarely solve this cleanly. They bolt onto the ERP without full access to your data, force you into their workflows, and charge per-user fees that scale with your headcount. When a customer calls asking where their order is, someone still has to log into the ERP, find the answer, and relay it manually.

The I-40 corridor through Statesville and Hickory has a large concentration of manufacturers who outgrew spreadsheet-based operations years ago. Most are still running on them because the software alternatives do not fit how they actually work.

The Approach

Laravel as the layer between your ERP and everything your ERP cannot do.

We do not replace your ERP. We connect to it. Laravel pulls order, inventory, and production data from your existing system and surfaces it in customer-facing portals, vendor dashboards, and floor-level tools built around how your operation actually runs.

EDI compliance, barcode and RFID support, multi-location access controls: each piece is designed to fit your process rather than forcing your process to fit the software. Background jobs handle the sync so data is current without manual imports.

You keep your ERP. You get the tools around it that your ERP was never going to build for you.

What We Build

Order Tracking & Status Portals

Customer-facing portals that pull order and shipment data from your ERP in real time. Customers see their order status without calling. Your customer service team handles exceptions, not status requests.

Vendor & Supplier Management

Supplier portals where vendors acknowledge purchase orders, submit advance ship notices, and upload compliance documents. Procurement teams manage relationships without chasing confirmation emails.

ERP Integration

API connections to SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, and other ERP systems. We handle the data mapping, sync cadence, and error handling so your ERP data flows to your custom tools without manual exports.

Inventory & Warehouse Management

Warehouse tools with barcode and RFID support for receiving, picking, and shipping. Inventory counts by location, bin, or lot number. Built to reflect how your facility is actually organized.

Production Scheduling & Workflows

Work order management, job scheduling, and production queue tools that give your floor supervisors visibility into what is running, what is next, and what is behind. No spreadsheet required.

Quality Control & Inspection Tracking

Digital inspection checklists tied to production orders. Non-conformance records, corrective action tracking, and inspection history attached to the parts or batches they describe.

Shipping & Logistics Coordination

Carrier integration, BOL generation, and shipment tracking connected to your order data. EDI compliance for trading partners who require 856 advance ship notices and 214 shipment status updates.

Reporting & Analytics Dashboards

Operations dashboards that pull from your ERP and any custom tools we have built. On-time delivery rates, production throughput, vendor performance, and inventory turns: live data, not a monthly export.

In Practice

We Built an Order Visibility Portal for a Statesville Components Manufacturer

A precision components manufacturer outside Statesville was fielding 30 to 40 order status calls per day. Their ERP had the data; their customers just had no way to see it. Customer service staff spent the first two hours of every morning pulling order reports and responding to the same questions they had answered the day before.

We built a Laravel portal that connects to their ERP, displays order status by customer account, and sends automated notifications at key milestones: order confirmed, production started, quality inspection passed, shipped. Order-related calls dropped by more than 70% in the first month. Customer service shifted their time to handling actual problems rather than answering the phone.

The pattern holds across manufacturing types. Wherever customers, vendors, or internal teams are doing manual work to answer questions the ERP already has answers to, a custom portal eliminates that friction.

Tech Considerations

ERP connectivity, EDI standards, and multi-location from day one.

ERP integrations vary considerably by system and version. Before we scope anything, we audit what your ERP actually exposes: REST APIs, OData, BAPI, or database-level access. That assessment determines the integration architecture and the realistic cost. We do not promise an ERP integration without understanding what we are connecting to first.

For manufacturers with major retail or distribution customers, EDI compliance is non-negotiable. We build X12 EDI support directly into the platform or through a tested translation layer, depending on your volume. Barcode and RFID scanning work through web-based interfaces your warehouse team can use on any device without a proprietary handheld.

Multi-plant operations get role-based access by facility. A shift supervisor in Statesville sees their plant. The operations director sees all of them. We design the permission model before writing a line of code.

Common Questions

Can you integrate with our existing ERP system?

It depends on the ERP and what it exposes. Most modern systems (NetSuite, SAP S/4HANA, Microsoft Dynamics) have REST APIs or OData endpoints we can connect to. Older SAP installations may require BAPI or RFC calls through middleware. We assess your specific ERP setup before scoping anything so we know exactly what the integration requires and what it costs to build.

What is EDI and do you handle it?

EDI stands for Electronic Data Interchange, the standard format large retailers and distributors use to send purchase orders, advance ship notices, and invoices electronically. Most manufacturing companies with major retail or wholesale customers are required to be EDI-compliant. We build EDI integrations using X12 standards, either directly or through a translation layer, depending on the volume and partner requirements.

How long does a custom manufacturing platform take to build?

A focused platform (order tracking portal, vendor management, and ERP data sync) typically runs 12 to 18 weeks. Add production scheduling, quality control workflows, or multi-location inventory management and you are looking at 20 to 30 weeks. We scope and price in writing before any work starts.

Do you support multi-plant or multi-location operations?

Yes. Role-based access by location is a core part of how we design these systems. A plant manager sees their facility. A logistics coordinator sees shipping across all locations. The corporate view is separate from the floor-level view. We map out the permission model during scoping so it is right from day one rather than retrofitted later.
